Nightmareish creatures born from the Wastes attempt to disable your mech and drag your crew into the depths, like they've done to so many others.

Welcome to the wasteland

The Waste of Parts is a cooperative strategy game for 1 to 5 players. You control the crew of a giant mech attempting to make its way through the Waste of Parts.

The game is played over a series of rounds. Each round, players take turns controlling their Crew Members in a rotating, progressive order, spending action points to perform various tasks such as moving between rooms of the mech, attacking enemies, or extinguishing fires.

Players can also use their unique, asymmetrical abilities to gain additional advantages. At the end of each round, a sequence of steps is taken to further advance the game state.

Enemies attack, and players draw and place new enemy cards equal to the mech's noise level. Players may also draw salvage cards, which provide equipment to enhance their Crew Members or upgrades to improve the mech itself. Some powerful room upgrade cards come with a noise penalty, forcing players to balance the risk of drawing additional enemy cards against the rewards they offer. If certain conditions are met, the mech will advance according to its current speed.

As the mech advances, more powerful enemy cards are shuffled into the deck, providing a scaling challenge that matches the crew's increasing strength over time. The game’s unique Scrap mechanic allows players to convert unwanted salvage cards into resources, repair the mech, or search for specific types of cards to mitigate randomness.

The game is won once the mech reaches its final space, but players can opt for an additional 'victory lap' challenge for an extra level of difficulty with their current run.

The Journey Begins

Escape the End of the World

Humanity is running out of road. Inside a towering walking mech, you and your crew must cross the ever-consuming Waste of Parts and reach the last surviving city: Sanctuary. Every mile forward is a fight for survival as the wasteland closes in behind you.

Survival Through Cooperation

Every Crew Member Matters

Coordinate your crew across the mech’s sprawling interior as you battle invaders, repair critical systems, extinguish fires, and keep the machine moving. Each character brings unique asymmetrical abilities, forcing players to adapt, specialize, and work together under relentless pressure.

The Waste Is Alive

Silence Can Save You

The Waste is not merely a wasteland — it is a vast hivemind of self-replicating nanobots that consumes everything in its path. Noise attracts horrors stitched together from the DNA of the dead, and every decision to push harder, upgrade faster, or fire louder risks drawing even deadlier enemies from the sludge.

Build, Salvage, Adapt

Turn Scrap Into Survival

Scavenge the ruins of civilization for powerful equipment, experimental upgrades, and precious resources. Convert unwanted salvage into Scrap to repair your mech, customize your strategy, and search for exactly what your crew needs to survive the journey ahead.

A World of Rust and Ruin

Explore the Waste of Parts

Traverse a haunting landscape filled with collapsing structures, abandoned mechs, and remnants of humanity’s greatest mistake. Seventeen years after the Great Disaster unleashed the creeping replicator known as ADDAM, the world has become a graveyard slowly swallowed by living machinery.

Designed for Solo or Cooperative Play

Face the Waste Together — or Alone

Play solo by commanding the entire crew yourself, or team up with up to four other players in a deeply cooperative survival experience. With escalating threats, evolving enemies, and high-stakes decisions every round, no two journeys across the Waste will ever feel the same.

The Crew

Survivors of the wasteland

Choose between 11 Crew Members, each with their own asymmetric abilities to keep the Mech moving forward and fight back against the inhabitants of the Wasteland.

Gameplay

How to Play

A Living Machine on the Brink

Every round in The Waste of Parts is a desperate fight to keep your colossal mech alive as it crawls across a dying world. Crew Members scramble through smoke-filled corridors, sealing damaged rooms, extinguishing raging fires, repairing vital systems, fueling the engines, scavenging resources, and holding back relentless enemies clawing their way through the hull.

Survival Through Coordination

Players take turns directing their unique Crew Members across the mech, balancing impossible decisions with limited actions. Do you defend a flaming Engine Room, revive a fallen ally, repair critical systems, or risk everything to gather precious Scrap? Every choice matters, because the Mech itself is constantly breaking down around you.

The Enemy Never Stops

At the end of each round, the Waste pushes back. Enemies surge through the Mech, attacking Crew Members and tearing rooms apart as fires spread and the Hull weakens under pressure. New threats emerge, supplies run thin, and the enemy forces escalate as your journey continues deeper into the wasteland.

Push Forward or Die Trying

Between attacks, the mech lurches onward toward Sanctuary — the last remaining human city. Salvage recovered from the ruins may provide the resources needed to survive another mile, but every round becomes more dangerous than the last. In The Waste of Parts, survival is never guaranteed — only earned.

Accessible roguelike survival that is deceptively much bigger than the sum of its parts. The Waste of Parts is a unique single session survival trek delivering cinematic emergent narratives, a tightly designed gameplay loop, and lasting variability.

Very thematic and fun experience. The table presence is awesome. You can imagine the hole scenery when your crew becomes overrun by the Wasteland creatures. It is even fun, if you loose, feels like a movie taking place (cinematic). I have to play this again soon.

Great game. Quick and easy setup. A ton of cards so every game will be different when upgrading characters and rooms.

One of the most thematic games ever. Even when I lose, which happens a lot, it always seems like a thrilling story and the tactical decisions are super fun. Easy to set up and tear down.

This game is very thematic, and quite unique. The dice rolling and other mechanisms are easy to understand and it is pretty easy to set up and take down. The gameplay experience is fun and riveting. Endless waves of baddies and lack of ways to find weapons creates a nice added tension, and seeing how far the finish line is vs mech hp. Can we make it? Do we rush the end or try and fix the hull beforehand? Interesting and exciting with the first few plays at least.
